“We’ve been going through the photos this morning – they look great! ……… Thank you again for everything you did on the day – everyone commented how relaxed you made them feel. One person said they didn’t realise they made ninjas so tall!” – Jeremy and Kerianne
I have to say I love the quote above! I do like to think of myself as a bit of a wedding photographer ninja in that I make it my business to be as unobtrusive, non invasive and low key as possible on the day whilst photographing all of the important moments and interactions. Obviously this would be much easier if I wasn’t 6’5″ tall but I take it as a complement that, despite my height my “ninja – ness” was appreciated!
It’s interesting because I don’t actually think that blending in and going relatively unnoticed has anything to do with snaeking around on the side lines, hiding in corners or in the shadows…..for me it’s very much about being there as part of the day, being involved fairly much like another guest and just blending in with the crowd. Being a “fly on the wall” takes practice and really isn’t about hiding and spying on people!
I love Loseley Park! Kerianne and Jeremy’s wedding was the first time I had photographed there – I certainly hope it’s not the last. Basically it’s just a stunning venue with some very interesting light in the main rooms but apart from that the welcome of the staff and the general atmosphere is just lovely and made being there for the day an absolute pleasure.
One of my very favourite moments of the day is above. The moment of actually getting married and the moment that Jeremy slipped the ring on to Kerianne’s finger – such joy! I’ve included a selection of some other favourites from the day below.
If you are looking for a ridiculously tall but surprisingly unobtrusive wedding photographer ninja then
I would love to hear from you!
Above: I’ve never photographed the groom at the barber’s before a wedding! Jeremy went to try to get his hair under control and it made an interesting start to the day for me!
Above: I love this small person’s expression!
Above: There are many interesting faces around the walls in the Great Hall at Losesly Park – I framed this so that I could add two more!
Above: So the registrar invites the guests to photograph the bride and groom after signing the register. This gentleman rushed up and took a selfie – v funny!
Above : I love the naturalness and spontanaity of this.
Above: Groom munching on wedding snacks.
Above: see what I mean by how beautiful Loseley Hall is! Lovely warm evening light during the meal in the evening.
Below: Bride and groom dancing with respective parents……an image that really tells a story….
