Rachel and Martin were married at the beautiful Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge with their reception just up the road a little at Magdalene College. As usual at the moment it rained! But not all day and the weather certainly didn’t dampen the spirit and sense of fun of the day at all. I started out (in the rain!) by photographing a few scene setting images around the college before meeting Rachel and her bridesmaids in one of the college rooms to photograph her preparations – it was one of the hottest steamiest rooms I had photographed in for a while and my lenses steamed up for a while but after this everything was fine! Normally, if I know that there is going to be a sudden change of humidity like this and a risk of steamed up lenses, I put a spare camera and lens in the humid room to warm up beforehand. This normally solves the problem and just needs a bit of forethought and pre planning!
The college chapel was beautifully lit and Rachel and Martin chose to say their vows in the middle of the chapel surrounded by their family and friends. After this there was a fun walk through town to the reception where they were greeted by a huge bubble reception! The day was rounded off with a very energetic and well rehearsed first dance!
