A bit of a chat about my grumpy old man views on customer service. I hate to moan but poor customer service really gets my goat – in many ways this is a good thing because I always strive, with my customers, to offer the kind of service I would expect from myself. Most of it is common sense and courtesy but I always try to go the extra mile in any way that I can.

There’s a bit of a trend going on at the moment for wedding photographers to offer coverage by two or more photographers. There are certainly advantages to this but I also think that it can create a number of problems as well. Is it just a passing fad to seem as though you are getting better value for money? Maybe there are better ways of adding value than this?
OMG it’s 2016 and you’ve still got your wedding to plan! Everyone tells you that you should have got it all in the bag months ago but, well, life gets in the way and trawling wedding websites gets a bit much sometimes. There really are much more exciting things to do like getting on […]
As weird wedding traditions go, throwing the bouquet has to be one of the strangest! Just think about it for a moment, you’re expected to throw possibly the most expensive bunch of flowers you have ever bought over your head at all of your friends who, dressed in their finery, will probably scramble over […]
Well, let’s start off by saying that nobody actually really needs a wedding photographer! We’d love to think that we’re vitally important and an indispensable part of any wedding but, all you actually need to get married is love, a registrar and a witness or two. The rest of the paraphernalia associated with weddings is […]
The small print…..do we agree to the terms and conditions?…….yah, yah, blah, blah! How many times do we just tick in the box or sign at the bottom without reading it at all?! It’s so easy to do but wedding photography contracts are there to protect both parties and to make sure that there is […]
It seems to me (although it would do because I’m a photographer!) that most couples prioritise photography and then possibly think about having a videographer afterwards or later in the planning process. I guess that if I was a videographer I might have a different view as I’m sure that there are couples that […]
“We really don’t like having our photograph taken” – I hear this so many times from couples chatting about their wedding photography and I can really empathise – I’m not too keen on it either! And I suppose that could be seen as a bit wierd! – is it not like being a chocolatier […]
It’s sometimes a bit difficult to describe my style of wedding photography quickly and most importantly without sounding a bit pompous and self indulgent. I always think that using words like “photo documentary” and “reportage” is a bit off putting and you see them over used all over photographer’s websites anyway. If asked what […]
Weddings can be a bit stressful at the best of times and there is nothing more likely to cause problems than timings running out of hand! Here’s a list of the top five times when things might go a bit awry! 1) Hair and make up – allow ample time to do your hair […]
Weddings are crazy events in many ways – when else would you wear a massive dress or full suit and eat a hot three course meal in the middle of the day at often the hottest time of year! Inevitably over the years we have inherited a number of wedding “hand me downs” […]
From an early age we are all conditioned to “smile for the camera”. Just think about it for a moment, most of the time, when anyone points a camera to take a picture the photographer’s subject or victim will freeze with a silly grin on their face. We all do it and there is something […]
